Carlos Maria da Silva Feijó has graduated with honors at the Agostinho Neto Law School, in Angola. He holds a Master and a PhD in Law from Universidade Nova de Lisboa Law School. He has had several appointments at the University and he is currently a Full Professor having published numerous articles and books in public and international Business law.

Much of his work has been devoted to the scientific research, reason why he is a member of Cedis - Centre of Scientific Investigation of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and investigator in the graduate school of Republic and Development, Management (University of Witwatersrand - Faculty of Management) - South Africa.

Despite his academic activity, he still carries out functions such as co-founder and President of CCGA, which stands for Centre of Corporate Governance of Angola and President of the Arbitration Centre of Angola.

He is a visiting Professor at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa Law School where he teaches in the Master's course of European and International Law.

Professor Xiaoqiang Yang is a full professor of tax law at the School of Law of Sun Yat-Sen University. His research interests focus on Tax Law, Valuation Law and Business Law. He got PhD from school of government of Sun Yat-Sen University (2003), LL.M degree (1994) and LL.B degree (1991) from Southwest University of Political Science and Law.

He has published 8 books and more than 70 articles mainly on VAT law in academic journals.

In 2006, the Supreme Court of China offered a senior judge position for him, he had worked for a period of time and chose to return for law school. He has been acting as the consultant for Guangdong Provincial Tax Authority for over 10 years. Since 2010, he has been working as the consultant for EY China Indirect Tax Team.

Since 2008, Professor Yang has been involved in Chinese VAT reform and policy-making with the invitation of National People’s Congress and Ministry of Finance. Since 2009, he has been the Chinese Correspondent for International VAT Monitor of IBFD. In 2013, he was appointed to be the Director of the Research Center for Taxation & Financial Law of Sun Yat-sen University. He is a regular VAT speaker in seminars/conferences nationwide or abroad.

Dr Claire Bright is Assistant Professor in Private Law and the Director of the Nova Centre on Business, Human Rights and the Environment at Nova Law School in Lisbon. She holds a PhD in International Law from the European University Institute, an LL.M in Private International Law and International Commercial Law from La Sorbonne Law School and a Double Bachelor's degree in French and English Laws.

Her main research interests focus on Business and Human Rights. She is an Associate Research Fellow in Business and Human Rights at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. She recently co-authored a study for the European Commission exploring the regulatory options for an EU-level legislation requiring EU companies to exercise human rights and environmental due diligence in their global supply chains. She also co-authored report for the European Parliament on Access to legal remedies for victims of corporate human rights abuses in third countries.

From 2010 to 2011, served as Portuguese Consultant for UNHCR for the purposes of Further Developing Asylum Quality Project. Patrick O’Malley is a Europe-based academic and international corporate and securities lawyer, dual qualified in both the United States and England and Wales. On the academic side, he is an assistant professor in comparative law at the Universidad de Navarra in Spain, as well as a regular lecturer at numerous other institutions, such as the International Training Centre of the ILO-UN in Italy, the Université Cergy-Pontoise, the Université Catholique de Lyon and Brest Business School in France. O’Malley also provides professional legal/business training around Europe and the U.S., and occasionally in Africa and Central Asia. Most of O’Malley’s courses cover comparative United States-European corporate and securities law issues, corporate governance, compliance and other commercial topics. He has especially focused on issues of international corporate governance, transparency and global efforts to combat corporate corruption/bribery. He speaks fluent Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. Dr. Allan F. Tatham is professor in EU law, at the Faculty of Law, CEU San Pablo University, Madrid. Called as a barrister in 1992, he was previously Assistant Professor and Director of the European Study Centre, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest, Hungary and has lectured on EU law throughout Central and Eastern Europe. He worked as legal advisor at the Delegation of the European Commission to Hungary and has published extensively on EU enlargement and law harmonisation. He lectures in English on constitutional aspects of EU law as well as on Public International Law and is presently researching the role of judiciaries in regional integration.

Attended Harvard University earning his A.B., before receiving a Juris Doctorem from Boston College Law School and a Legum Magister in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law. After being admitted to the New York Bar, worked for seven years at the Federal Reserve Bank before practicing law for nearly 30 years in New York City where he specialized in various areas of Corporate, Banking, Taxation, Antitrust and Maritime Law. Since retiring from the day-to-day practice of law in 2003, has lived and worked in Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Turkey and, now, Portugal, and has taught at universities in Turkey and Portugal hundreds of undergraduates, graduate students, professors, practicing lawyers and judges.
